Education Guidance & Information Service
Leitrim Adult Education Guidance Service is an initiative funded by the Department of Education and Science and sponsored by Leitrim Vocational Education Committee since January 2007. This is a professional and confidential service that will offer information, guidance, advice and support to assist adults in making the best possible choices for learning and/or career progression.
‘’I want to return to education but I don’t know where to start’’
The adult education guidance service is for adults who:
- Are thinking about returning to or continuing with their education
- Want to explore new forms of education and training
- Want to make a fresh start and feel they want guidance or information
We can help you to:
- Identify your skills, interests and goals
- Look at your choices, options and opportunities
- Overcome barriers and issues that are holding you back
- Develop and individual action plan
We do this through providing:
- One to one session with a guidance counsellor by appointment
- Access to information on colleges, further education, training courses and careers
- Information on funding opportunities
- Access to a network of support organizations
- Group session on job search skills, CV preparation, interview skills, study skills, and assistance with application forms.
Returning to education is a big step and we can help you with it.
Our service is free of charge, confidential, friendly and impartial.
We are based at the LEAP Centre, Presentation House, Main St, Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim and various centres throughout the county. Call the above number or drop into our centre for further details or to make an appointment.
